Ridley Twp. police officer Anthony D'Ambrosia just left the back parking lot
after taking reports from five of us. Someone smashed the window of Atty
Pressman's Mercedes and took GPS, cash and credit cards. Jack Whelan
stopped by even though he hasn't been at his office because his mother just
passed away, so luckily he was not here when it happened. The two DJ cars
and Edie, as well as my minivan were rifled.
The attorney is the only one whose car was locked and they speculate that
the thieves saw his GPS and smashed the window to get to it.. The sensor at
the law office did not activate their back spotlight so it is suspected that
the light was disabled. The Mercedes' car alarm did not sound, so they
suspect the crooks just reached through the broken window and helped
themselves. Altogether there was a Sirius satellite radio, a camera, and all
of us lost cash. My gift card for the food store from Christmas is gone, as
well as my Border's discount card. The officer suggested that we check more
thoroughly and report anything else that might be missing.
The police and Jack both echoed that this has never happened here before,
especially as it appears that it occurred between 6:30 and 7:30 in the
evening in our well-lit and relatively busy back parking lot. Just thought
I'd give you a "headzup!" Andy. Nancy Waltz
